Chenango Valley Senior Emma Schmidt signed her letter of intent today to play lacrosse for Division II's The College of Saint Rose in Albany. Schmidt is making history becoming the first girl's lacrosse player from Chenango Valley to commit to playing in college. She also was a part of the first win in program history for both the school's JV and Varsity girl's lacrosse teams. She is in her 6th year of playing lacrosse and currently plays it year round. She says it's hard to believe her high school career is coming to a close, but she is thrilled for the next chapter.
"It's weird knowing that this is it, I'm going to college and won't get to play high school lacrosse anymore," says Schmidt. "It's super exciting I wasn't sure how to feel when i woke this morning, I was exhilarated it was an overwhelming feeling."
Schmidt says she chose to become a Golden Knight because she likes the class sizes, the Albany area and really connected with their coach.
