Former Union-Endicott Tiger, and now NFL star Chandler Jones, has given back to his roots in a big way. After getting in contact with head coach Tom Baleno earlier this year, Jones had the idea to personally buy new cleats for all of the athletes on the U-E Tigers varsity football team. Jones, who graduated in 2008 from Union-Endicott, went on to play college football at Syracuse University from 2008-2012. From there, Jones was drafted by the New England Patriots in 2012. One thing that Coach Baleno took from this experience and opportunity through Jones, is that it is not just about the money or the fame that comes with being a professional athlete, but it is about going back to your roots and giving back to those that helped you get to where you are today.
