Binghamton University Alumni Returns to Teach About PTSD

Posted: Updated:

PTSD was the focus of this year's Stephen A Lisman lecture in Clinical Psychology.

Terence M Keane delivered the lecture in the Watters theater at Binghamton University.

Keane was in the first psychology class for BU back in 1973, and worked under Dr. Lisman, so it was a big deal for him to be able to return to b-u and lecture on his field of expertise, and give students a similar education to the one he had.

Keane, who is now the Director of the National Center for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, said "I was certainly trained by Dr. Lisman... And received outstanding preparation for the work that eventually I was able to do in conjunction with many other people over the years... And we feel that the preparation that we received at Binghamton University was fundamental to the work that we did when we left and were on our own..."

This is the 5th year that the clinical psychology department has held a Stephen A Lisman lecture.
