Early Morning Crash On Route 12

The investigation revealed that a 42-year-old male of Chittenango operating a delivery truck was south on State Highway 12 when it crossed over striking a tractor trailer head-on.

The driver of the tractor trailer, a 45-year-old male from Lisle attempted to take evasive action but was unable to.

The tractor trailer caught on fire after impact.

The driver of the delivery van was transported to Wilson Memorial and later moved to Upstate, sustaining non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.

The roadway was re-opened shortly before noon.

 

 

 

New York State Police at Norwich responded to an early morning crash just before 5 a.m. Friday on State Highway 12 near Phetteplace Road in Norwich.

Troopers and investigators are trying to piece together what happened.

We do know the crash was head-on involving a tractor trailer and a delivery van.

The tractor trailer caught on fire after impact.

The roadway is closed and will remain closed. A detour is in place taking southbound commuters to County Road 32B to County Road 32 to State Highway 220 and northbound traffic to State Highway 220 to County Road 32 to County Road 32B.
