Flames Rip Through Home In ColesvillePosted: Updated:
Four adults and three children are left homeless after a fire ripped through their home in the Town of Colesville Friday morning.
Dispatch received a report of a house fire at 427 Ouaguaga Road around 10:50 a.m., according to Harpursville Fire Chief Jeffrey Buckler.
When firefighters arrived, they saw flames and heavy smoke coming out of the right side of the home, according to Buckler. Firefighters were able to knock down the main body of the fire in 20 minutes.
Buckler said that everyone inside was able to make it out of the home safely and no injuries were reported.
He added that the home is at a total loss.
The Red Cross is helping four adults and three children displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated by the Broome County Bureau of Fire Investigation.
