Ben Anderson Named BU Male Athlete Of The Year

 Vestal, N.Y. - After producing a record-breaking season this spring, junior baseball pitcher Ben Anderson has been selected as Binghamton University's Male Athlete of the Year. 

 Anderson led the America East in wins with nine, strikeouts with 108 and ERA with a 2.76 average. After stifling conference batters all spring, he was named America East Pitcher of the Year. He struck out more than 11 batters per game – an average that ranks No. 1 in the 30-year history of the America East. He ranked fourth in the country in complete games, 28th in victories and 41st in strikeouts and was named to the All-Northeast Region team.

He has started a professional career with the Texas Rangers' Class A Short Season affiliate in Spokane.
