UPDATE: Man Who Crashed Into Parked Cars In Endicott Neighborhood Arrested On Several ChargesPosted: Updated:
The driver who crashed into several parked cars on Alexander Street in Endicott on July 4th was fleeing after a domestic dispute, according to New York State Police. 21-year-old Joseph Newfrock has been charged with driving while impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a firearm, assault, menacing, obstruction of breathing, and criminal mischief following the incident.
New York State Police say a trooper was dispatched to a domestic dispute on Columbia Drive in the Town of Union, where a victim told police the argument had been about Newfrock taking the victim's car. Newfrock is accused of drawing an unregistered handgun on the victim, striking them with the butt of the gun, and choking the victim before getting in the car and leaving the area.
Thursday night, residents of Alexander Street told a Fox 40 reporter they saw the car come speeding down their street, smashing into parked cars on its way before coming to a stop halfway on the curb.
Newfrock was transported to Wilson Hospital with head injuries and was issued appearance tickets due in Town of Union Court on July 16th.
