The Rumble Ponies were spreading orange tonight raising money and awareness of Multiple Sclerosis. Founder of the non-profit Mission Stadiums for Multiple Sclerosis Sam Greenberg threw out the first pitch in the Ponies' inaugural MS awareness game.
Players and coaches wore orange MS4MS shirts during batting practice, which were auctioned off to raise money for research for a cure at Johns Hopkins. Orange bats were also auctioned off to fans encouraged to wear orange in solidarity with the MS warriors around the world.
"Seeing it grow so organically is incredible," said Greenberg, who founded MS4MS in 2011. "MS is a disease people don't often talk about, so seeing orange fill a ballpark is so powerful."
