The Southern New York Region Sports Car Club of America (SNYR SCCA) hosted their first autocross event of the summer today at Binghamton University from 8am-5pm.
Dozens of drivers hit the pavement to test out their vehicles on a preset course.
According to Regional Executive, Michelle DiGiacomo, autocross is a sport anyone with a license can try.
"There's really low barriers to entry for autocross. You can race your daily driver with your regular wheels on to a fully modified vehicle. We set up a course, everything is very safe we have a lot of safety checks. and the cars will race through the timed course one at a time and race for the fastest time. a lot of it's about skill."
