The Maine-Endwell Spartans pulled of a thrilling 5-4 win over the No. 1 ranked team in New York, the Lakeland Hornets.
Senior Joe Mancini tripled in the bottom of the 7th and scored the walk-off run on a wild pitch to lead the Spartans to a 5 p.m. game against Section 9 champion Roosevelt.
Boston College commit and NYS Gatorade Player of the Year, Lakeland's pitcher Joey Vetrano tossed 6 K's and a no-hitter heading into the fifth inning.
The Spartans executed on Lakeland's mistakes in the sixth inning and took the 3-1 lead, to then get the lead taken from them in the top of the 7th.
The Spartans fight was tested time and time again and they certainly rose to the occasion.
