New York - Syracuse football's record-setting quarterback, Eric Dungey, will sign as an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants. Dungey went undrafted last week but according to Syracuse.com, he immediately started receiving calls from teams.
According to Syracuse.com, New York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur called Eric and the two had a long conversation that left Dungey feeling really good about the situation and helped sway him to New York. The twenty-two year old will be with the Giants for their two-day minicamp Friday and Saturday.
New York already has four quarterbacks on the roster, including No. 6 overall pick, former Duke quarterback Daniel Jones. Dungey is expected to practice this weekend alongside Jones. Dungey will also compete with Kyle Lauletta and Alex Tanney for a roster spot.
At Syracuse, Dungey threw for 9,340 yards and 58 touchdowns.
