ENDICOTT, N.Y. -

One person was taken to the hospital following a car crash in Endicott early Friday evening.

Multiple crews responded to617 West Main Street near Our Lady of Good Council around 5:20 p.m.

According to West Endicott Fire Chief Michael Tremblay, one of the car was off the road when first responders arrived.

Tremblay said one of the drivers was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

"We were supported by West Corners Fire. They supplied a rescue because it was a possible entrapment in the beginning of the incident. One ambulance from Union Volunteer Ambulance responded. There was a second one dispatched but it was returned when the second patient decided not to be transported," said Tremblay.

Tremblay reiterates the importance of volunteer first responders.

"I appreciate the support that we’ve gotten from our neighboring communities. We were lucky on the time of day that we had people coming home from work that were able to respond. As always we’re always looking for volunteers," said Tremblay.
