The New York high school state wrestling championships were held in Albany this weekend, and Section IV made a strong showing for themselves with five title winners. Norwich's Dante Geislinger won 3-0 in the 106 pound match. Walton/Delhi's Chandler Merwin came out victorious in the 126 pound title match winning 7-2.
Tioga's Worthing brothers dominated, with Brady winning the 132 pound championship and brother John winning the 138 pound title.
Norwich's Mikey Squires fell short in an upset in the 152 weight class. Watkin's Glen's Dylan Houseknecht powered through the 285 weight class winning 4-2 in overtime.
