The Binghamton women's basketball team came out on top over the University of Hartford 73-62, handing the Hawks their first loss in the America East.
The Bearcats shot 51 percent against the top defensive team in the conference. Guard Carly Boland scored a game high 19 points, and forward Rebecca Carmody had 16 points and eight rebounds. The two were instrumental on the floor, as they both acted as point guards alongside Kai Moon.
"This was a great team win for us tonight," said head coach Bethann Shapiro Ord. "Our players have been in the gym working hard and it really paid off tonight. We shot the ball well, hit our free throws and everyone played a big role tonight."
The Bearcats return to action as they host Albany on Saturday at 2.
