OWEGO, N.Y. -

The Owego Apalachin Central School District is partnering with local businesses and organizations as well as with the Village, Town, and County departments to become a "STEAM Town District".

The goal is for students to get to experience new opportunities through community partnerships.

Corey Green, Owego Superintendent said, "There's a pathway for every student whether it be college or a trade like an electrician, plumber, machinist as well as an engineer, lawyer, entrepreneur..  we want to give each one of them an opportunity to experience what it's like before they leave our school district".

STEAM is a curriculum that focuses specifically on the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Agriculture and Mathematics.

Some of the Collective Impact Team that were in attendance on Friday was New York Senator Fred Akshar, Lockheed Martin, and Binghamton University.
