A Lisle man will spend 15 years to life in state prison for sexually assaulting a child. In September 2018 a Broome County jury found Nicholas May guilty of sexually abusing a girl over the course of several years while she was between the ages of 5 and 10 years old.

In court on Friday, prosecutors praised the now 11-year old’s courage in coming forward.
“If you can imagine how difficult it would be for an adult, imagine what it would feel for an 11-year-old girl to get up on that stand and tell a room of strangers what (May) had done to her and in front of (May),” says Stephanie Milks, Senior Assistant District Attorney.
May’s defense attorney, Mike Baker, told Judge Joseph Cawley that his client maintains his innocence and intends to appeal the conviction.
