Kevin Boles Named Binghamton Rumble Ponies Manager

Binghamton, N.Y. - Kevin Boles was named the Binghamton Rumble Ponies manager for the 2019 season, the team announced on Wednesday. Boles will take over for former Binghamton manager Luis Rojas, after he was named to the New York Mets  coaching staff, as their quality control coach, on Sunday.

Boles will be the 16th manager in franchise history and comes with a lengthy coaching resume. He managed the Boston Red Sox's triple-A affiliate, the Pawtucket Red Sox for the past five season

Boles comes to Binghamton after spending the last eleven seasons managing in the Boston Red Sox system. His most recent coaching career highlights a five year stretch managing g the Boston Red Sox’s triple-A affiliate, the Pawtucket Red Sox.

Boles guided Boston’s top Minor League team to one International League championship, winning the Governor’s Cup in 2014. Baseball America recognized him in 2018 as the International League’s Best Managerial Prospect.

Rumble Ponies  open the 2019 season on April 4 against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
