Johnson City School District's $28.9M Project Gets Voted On

JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. -

The Johnson City Central School District's proposed $28.9 million capital project contact has passed with a preliminary vote of 248 to 171. 

The Board of Education approved the results in a special meeting Wednesday night.

The project, named Renewal 2020, is estimated to cost taxpayers 0.25-percent beginning the 2020-21 fiscal year. 

Renewal 2020 will focus on safety and security, program changes, and building systems. 

The project is set to begin in 2020.
