Whitney Point, N.Y. - Broome County Executive Jason Garnar visited Whitney Point High School on Monday to present the school's field hockey team with a special proclamation in recognizing the team's fifth consecutive state title. Something no Section IV team in any sports has ever done.
"One year ago, after they won their fourth in a row, I told the team I'd be back and today, I had the honor of congratulating them once again. CONGRATS ladies! You make Broome County proud" Garnar posted on Facebook.
Whitney Point Mayor Ryan Reynolds also declared Monday, December 3 to be “Whitney Point Athletics Day” in honor of the recent accomplishments of the district’s athletic teams.
