Parker Stokes Signs NLI To GeorgetownPosted: Updated:
Endwell, N.Y. - Maine-Endwell Senior Parker Stokes started running when he was in the eighth grade and here he is just five years later, signing his National Letter of Intent to run cross country, indoor and outdoor track on a full scholarship to Georgetown University. The eighteen year old has a lengthy list of accomplishments at Maine-Endwell high school.

2018 National Champion in the 2000m Steeplechase
2nd place in NYSPHSAA Class B Cross Country Championships in 2017 & 2018
2018 Nike Cross New York Regional Champion
27th at Nike cross nationals in 2017
"Parker has been such a great example for the rest of the team and I really hope my younger athletes try to emulate him" said Head Coach Megan Jacoby.
"His commitment to his goals and setting the bar really high for himself has really set him apart."
Parker will also be majoring in Pre Medical Studies next year at Georgetown, a place that will give him a change of scenery and a new opportunity to meet new people.
"It's slowly growing on me that this is actually happening. I'm very grateful and happy to be in this position. I'm very lucky. With my five years of running, I've been able to grow into the athlete that I am now" said Parker.
Parker travels to Portland, Oregon over the weekend to compete in the Nike Cross National Race.
