Posted: Updated:
JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. -

Boland Park off of Boland Avenue received a new sign for its pavilion.

The water-themed mosaic was a collaboration between Jablon Studios and the "mosaic mafia", a group of students between the ages of 14-18.

The project which took multiple 6 hour days over a 6 week period was recognized Saturday by both the State of New York and Johnson City.

Students who worked on the project were awarded plaques from both the State Assembly and Johnson City.

Emily Jablon, the head of the project said, "i think there should be art in every neighborhood, it not only brightens everyone's day but it also gives people an opportunity that wouldn't get to see art without going to museum, they can walk through their neighborhood and see it Ind i think that should be available for everybody"
