B Devils Will Honor Veterans With Military Appreciation Night

Posted: Updated:

Binghamton, N.Y. - On Saturday, November 10 the Binghamton Devils will host the Utica Comets on Military Appreciation Night presented by Lockheed Martin. There will be free tickets to all active duty and veteran military on Saturday. There will be a post game jersey auction, which will benefit two local organizations, "Stand with me" and "Twin Tiers Honor Flight."

Stand with me is a service dog training program that helps veterans train their dogs to become service dogs. Twin Tiers Honor Flight is a national honor flight network that transports American veterans, free of charge, to Washington D.C. to visit memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifices.

"I have been raised to truly appreciate what the service men and women have done for this country. The freedom we all get to enjoy is because of what they do. So as I said, it's the very least of what we can do. To dedicate a night to them" said head coach, Mark Dennehy.

The Binghamton Devils will also wear particular jerseys to honor the veterans. Those jerseys will be auctioned off post game and will go towards the two local organizations, "Stand With Me" and "Twin Tiers Honor Flight."

"It's an honor to be able to play the game we love. Without the military, the sacrifices they make for their family, the country, we wouldn't be able to do what we do" said Devils defenseman, John Ramage.
