Endwell, N.Y. - Maine-Endwell hosted Vestal in a Section IV Class A title rematch on Monday night. The Golden Bears looked to grab their 6th straight title, while the Spartans looked to grab their first Class A title since 2012.
Jack Coleman put Maine-Endwell on the board int the first 10 minutes of the game. Vestal was unable to capitalize on their shots until the second half.
Nate Parson scored for Vestal in the second half to tie up the game. Senior Archit Pahadi was the hero of the night when he had a break away with 5:00 minutes remaining in the game and executed the shot into the back of the net for the game winning goal.
"We needed someone to step up. We needed someone other than a main guy. Sometimes that happens. All of a sudden you got a hero and Archit came through in this one. I'm very happy for him" said head coach, Dave Barr.
Vestal travels to Middletown on Wednesday for the Sub-Regional vs. Cornwall.
