Bearcats basketball Just Two Weeks Away From Home OpenerPosted: Updated:
Vestal, N.Y. - Binghamton University Men's basketball is just two weeks away from their home opener against Cornell on Tuesday, November 6. The 2018-19 season brings eight newcomers, six of them will suit up for their home-opener. The Bearcats will be able to officially put last season in the rear view mirror after finishing with just two wins in the America East Conference and failing to make the post season.
Along with the new faces, the Bearcats bring back familiar faces as well, including J.C. Show, Thomas Bruce who have already established their leadership roles. But, with the new look of this this team, Coach Dempsey will look for the new players to of course step up and the returning players to settle into different roles this season.
"This would be the fastest, most athletic team we've had. Every one seems to be oriented. I I think that gets tricky when games start and minutes get divided, but we gotta stay positive and every one needs to take their role and buy into their role" said head coach Tommy Dempsey.
The energy and excitement of these young as well as new players has meshed well with the experienced and older returning players. Hopefully giving this team a new look and hopefully getting them where they want to be.
"That's something that will drive us and motivate us to have that hunger that we need to have. Combining that with energy and excitement with new guys and really trying to create something" said J.C. Show
"I know as a senior I wanna leave this place better than I found it."
