Posted: Updated:
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -

On Monday hundreds of people lined up on Main Street in Downtown Binghamton for the 56th annual Columbus Day Parade.

A day where the community embraces its ties to its Italian-American roots.

The morning began with the raising of the Italian flag at City Hall followed by local marching bands competing for the Tournament of Marching bands.

At the end of the parade, was the beginning of the Italian Festival.

For the first time ever the three entities... Sons Of Italy, Abruzzese Club, and St. Mary's Parish came together as one to feed the Binghamton community.

People lined up to get their hands on sausage and peppers, canolli's, meatballs, and some unique homemade pizza.
