BU's Jodi-Marie Ramil Transferring To Iona CollegePosted: Updated:
Binghamton, N.Y. - One of the biggest stories to come out of Binghamton University Athletics in the last year was the story of the three Ramil sisters. Binghamton High graduates, Olivia Ramil, Jodi-Marie Ramil and Annie Ramil planned to step foot on the basketball court all wearing the same jerseys for the Binghamton University Women's basketball 2018-19 season. However, there will not only be two sisters playing side by side.
6-foot-2 sisters, Olivia and Jodie-Marie played together at Georgetown University last season and decided to come back home to Binghamton when they transferred to BU to play in the 2018-19 season. The youngest of the three, Annie Ramil, graduated Binghamton High School last year after committing to Binghamton University for the 2018-19 season.
However, instead of three sisters playing side by side, there will now only be two. Binghamton University announced today that Jodi-Marie Ramil is transferring to Iona College. Ramil had already completed her undergraduate program, therefore, assumingly will complete her Masters at Iona. Ramil has two seasons of eligibility remaining, but hasn't announced if she will play basketball at Iona. Ramil has not been available to talk.
Binghamton University Women's basketball head coach, Bethann Shapiro Ord stated, "Jodi-Marie is an outstanding young woman."
“She has many great things that lie ahead and I look forward to seeing her success. I wish her all the best in the future.”
Iona, in New Rochelle, went 2-28 last season.
