Thirty-five new and returning celebrities hit the Links at Hiawatha Thursday for the annual Jim “Mudcat” Grant All-Star Golf Tournament.

The tournament, now in its 17th year, raises money for four organization in the community: CHOW, Broome County Urban League, and Boys and Girls Clubs of Binghamton and Catholic Charities of Broome County,

Golfers and volunteers greeted familiar faces like fellow Black Aces J.R. Richard and “Gentleman Al” Downing, who played for the Binghamton Triplets.

Former New York Yankee Ross Moschitto has returned each year since his good friend "Mudcat" asked him to play 17 years ago.

This year saw a crop of new sports icons, including Ron Blomberg, another former Bronx Bomber.

"I really enjoyed the event and I'll be back next year, I hope they raise tons and tons of money, the people here in Binghamton are wonderful, my foursome is wonderful, this is great!”

Before the tournament, a number of players visited patients at UHS and Lourdes Hospital.
