New Jersey Devils Hire Rick Kowalsky As Assistant Coach

Binghamton, N.Y. - Today New Jersey Devils general manager, Ray Shero announced that the two empty spots on the New Jersey Devils coaching staff have been filled. Binghamton Devils head coach, Rick Kowalsky has been promoted as the New Jersey Devil's assistant coach. 

Rick Kowalsky has served as the Albany and Binghamton Devils head coach for the past eight years, where he won AHL coach of the year in the 2015-16 season. Kowalsky led the Devils AHL affiliate to playoff appearances in 2015-16 and 2016-17 including a team record 46 wins and 102 points in the 2015-16 season.

Ray Shero stated, "Rick is a high-energy hard working coach, great communicator, who has a great mind for the game."

The organization has not announced who will be filling Kowalsky's role as head coach.
