Over a dozen men and women were in attendance for the Binghamton Police Department's open house for recruitment at City Hall Monday night, in hopes of gaining knowledge on what it takes to be a police officer.
Officers from different units of the police department gave information to the group as a whole first, then spoke individually to the recruits, answering any specific questions they had.
Officers enlightened the recruits on what it takes to become a police officer, their general lifestyle, preparation for the written exam, and the process following acceptance.
Exam applications and a $25 application fee are due on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 4:45 p.m. The exam will take place on Saturday, September 15, 2018.
