Monthly Carousel Magazine Relaunches Under New Management

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -

The local arts, culture, and entertainment monthly, Carousel, is being relaunched under new management.

Residents of Broome and Tioga counties have relied on the ‘Triple Cities Carousel’ since 2013 when it was launched by Chris Bodnarczuk as a resource for information about local art and music events, but it was announced in March that it would cease production.

A group of local business leaders and politicians responded to the public demand for a continued Triple Cities Carousel monthly by relaunching the magazine under a shortened name and a new design.

Tom Haines, owner of the gallery Atomic Tom’s and one of the organizers of the new Carousel, said “Without the Carousel attendance is down and I suspect once this is back, our attendance will go back up.”

“It wasn’t going away. There’s too many people that decided ‘This is important to the community’” Haines added.

The relaunched Carousel is still free and is currently available at all locations that formerly carried the Triple Cities Carousel, including local establishments like Cyber Cafe West, Tom’s Coffee Cards & Gifts, Lost Dog Cafe, Strange Brew, and many others.

While the new Carousel is still seeking advertisers and sponsors, they have launched a Go Fund Me fundraiser to help keep the magazine as a free resource.
