Broome County Sheriff deputies Thursday morning conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a Vehicle &Traffic violation on Old Front St. in the Town of Dickinson. Deputy noted a strong chemical odor emitting from the vehicle and observed several items inside the vehicle consistent with methamphetamine manufacturing.
The operator and the front seat passenger were removed from the vehicle and detained for further investigation. The vehicle operator, Dawn Cole 40 yrs. old, possessed a revoked NYS Driver’s License. Dawn and the front seat passenger, Michael Bish 38 yrs. old, were found to be in possession of 1.3 grams of a substance that field tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.
The subsequent investigation revealed Cole and Bish were manufacturing methamphetamine inside the vehicle. Detectives from the Broome County Special Investigation Task Force responded to assist with the investigation. NY State Police CCERT responded and secured the manufacturing materials and rendered the scene safe.
Cole and Bish were arraigned before the Town of Dickinson Magistrate and remanded to the Broome County Sheriff’s Correctional Facility with no bail.
