Owego Strawberry Fest Returns for 38th Year

Posted: Updated:

Returning for the 38th year, the annual Owego Strawberry Festival is expected to draw as many as 20,000 people to the historic downtown. The event will be held on June 15th and 16th and offer live music, entertainment, vendors, and food.

"It's a huge opportunity for our marketplace and for our merchants. We look for... not only to show what we do on the day of the festival, but we're hoping that people will return and come back and just eat and shop and just play in Owego," says Bradley Crews, President of Historic Owego Marketplace.

Organizers say they see growth every year, especially in the entertainment they're able to bring in. This year, more than 20 bands will play on four stages around town. A new addition to the entertainment, two 8 ft tall dinosaurs will be roaming the streets during the festival. Wendy Post, in charge of the entertainment portion of the event, says these dinosaurs provided by Dinosaurevents have been seen on Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel.
