Four Section IV Baseball Teams left in State Playoffs

It was a good day for Section IV high school baseball, Saturday. Four teams won their matchups against the other Section champs, and are moving on to the semi-final round of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) playoff tournament.

Here are your final scores from around the Regional games:

Class AA

  • Horseheads - 7  def.  Kingston - 2  Final

Class B

  • Seton Catholic - 3  def.  Adirondack - 2  Overtime

Class C

  • Lansing - 7  def.  Little Falls - 3  Final

Class D

  • Deposit - 8  def.  Oriskany - 4  Final

Noteworthy statistics:

Horseheads' starting pitcher, Michael Limoncelli, gave up only 2 hits, while striking out 5 batters through 6 and 1/3 innings.

Deposit will face Brocton from Section VI at NYSEG Stadium, Friday at 5:00 p.m. for the Class D Semi-Finals.

Lansing moves onto the Class C Semis, against Avon, Friday at Conlon Field in Binghamton for a 5:00 p.m. start.

Seton Catholic will play Royalton-Hartland, Friday at Maine-Endwell High School (5:00 p.m.) for the Class B Semi-Finals.

Horseheads faces off with Massapequa, Friday at Union-Endicott High School (2:00 p.m.) for the Class AA Semi-Finals.
