The fourth annual Tony DelNero golf tournament took place today. The tournament sold out with a total of fifty-two teams and over two-hundred people in attendance.
"This is our fourth annual tournament for Mercy House of the Southern Tier, which is a community care shelter for the terminally ill. This year we are excited to name it after Tony DelNero who was the tournament coordinator previously, who passed away unexpectedly last summer" says Greg Marx, Golf Tournament Coordinator at En-joie
The tournament benefits Mercy House, a ten bedroom care shelter for people with terminal illness. The facility is funded soely by donations.
"We've had great support from the community year after year. We just can't thank everyone enough for continuing to support such a great cause" says Marx
The money collected from participation fees, raffle tables, door prizes and contests on the course goes towards the operating costs at Mercy House. According to Marx, last year they collected around $25,000.
