Alexis Drake Signs Letter Of Intent To Play Division II BasketballPosted: Updated:
After a perfect season for the Susquehanna Valley girl's basketball team. they said goodbye to several seniors this past winter. Seniors that include two-year starter and captain Alexis Drake. Drake has shown leadership and toughness on and off the court the last four years and today, the Saber is officially a Lion.
Drake signed her letter of intent to play Division II basketball at Saint Leo's University in Florida. Her coaches of the past, present and future all spoke highly of Drake's basketball ability as well as her toughness and determination.
SV's two-year starter won two State Championships with the Sabers, in 2015 and 2018. She averaged a total of 7.5 rebounds and 9 points a game throughout here career at Susquehanna Valley.
Drake's new head coach at Saint Leo University. Anthony Crocitto spoke very highly of her on a press release published on the Lions athletic website.
"Alexis will bring character, work ethic, size, and athleticism to our play up front. Drake will be expected to rebound and defend first and foremost but certainly has a solid well-rounded skill set to build upon. We are so excited in adding Alexis as her size and versatility is impressive" Said Crocitto.
Alexis Drake is very excited to see what her future holds but will never forget what SV has done to help her get to this point.
"This has been my dream for a very long time, I didn't know if it was going to happen but all the hard work definitely payed off and it's very exciting" Said Drake.
Drake also stated, "SV has prepared me 100 percent, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for all of them and all the lessons I've learned, it's just really helped."
