BINGHAMTON, NY -

The 6th annual Ann’s 5k Run is coming to Otsiningo Park on Saturday, May 5th, and is raising awareness for a good cause.

The run begins at 10 a.m., registration opens at 7:30 a.m., and the cost is $30.

Ann’s 5k Run aims to raise awareness of Huntington’s Disease and is named after a Broome County woman fighting the rare nerve cell disease.

“Huntington’s Disease is a disease that is like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s at the same time. It’s degenerative in both the brain and the body. So it can be very uncomfortable for people who have it. It’s just really important that we can get the word out and help fund more research.” - Sally Forbidussi, 5k organizer

All proceeds raised at the run will go to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America to support the fight to improve the lives of those affected by the disease.
