ENDICOTT, N.Y. -

The Broome County Republican Women’s Club had a special guest in their monthly dinner meeting Thursday night.

At Nirchi’s on the Avenue in Endicott, the group hosted Former City of Binghamton Mayor Richard Bucci as their featured guest speaker.

The group had been a strong supporter of the former mayor during his time in office.

Bucci addressed his perspective on the current political climate of the Republican party on the local, state, and national level. He spoke directly to the group, sharing his thoughts on the role the Republican Women’s Club can play as activists in upcoming campaigns.

Pushing aside any political affiliations, the main message he wanted to get across was the importance of getting involved.

“If you care about what’s going on in your community, at the state, local, federal level, get involved." — Richard Bucci, Former City of Binghamton Mayor.

During the dinner meeting, Bucci also updated the group on positions he held after being mayor, including his time as an administrator in the Vestal School District and President of the Broome Catholic Schools.

The Broome County Republican Women's Club has been around the community since 1929. Their mission is to "inform and unify as well as give service to the Republican Party and community."
