Three Taken To Hospital After Serious Crash In Lansing

State Route 13 in the village of Lansing is now open after a serious accident this Thursday morning.  Troopers from  Ithaca were on scene at approximately 2:05 a.m., when they pulled up on a car that struck a tractor trailer.

The car was traveling south bound when it crossed over into the northbound lane, striking the tractor trailer. Roads at the time of the crash were snow covered and icy. Troopers saw a small fire starting in the vehicle and acted quickly, putting it out with a fire extinguisher and kept it from spreading.

The female driver was extricated and was transported by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for head and leg injuries.

The female passenger of the car was also transported to Upstate for minor injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca for minor injuries.  State Route 13 remained closed for approximately five hours as the troopers and members of CVEU investigated the crash. The road was reopened at 7:00 a.m. The investigation is on-going.
