Sneak Peak Into Broome County's Largest Easter Egg Hunt

Posted: Updated:

Volunteers are getting ready for Broome County's largest Easter egg hunt, which will be held on Saturday at Recreation Park in Binghamton.

The Children's Charity of Greater Binghamton has sponsored the free event for families for the last six years.

With some 20,000 eggs to be found, board member Katie Carpenter said Saturday's hunt will be their largest one yet.

"Everyone is welcome to come, Binghamton residents and beyond. Everyone is welcome."

In addition to the Easter egg hunt, families can enjoy free food and music, as well as free carousel rides. While the actual hunt starts at 11 a.m., the event runs from 10 a.m. to noon.

“There’s a few eggs that have tickets in them that kids can turn in at the tent to get little prizes. Some are specific to boys and girls, some are for anyone and they can choose whichever they’d like," said Carpenter.
