High School Students Explore Future Career Options

Posted: Updated:

Leaving high school can be full of uncertainty and even a little scary. That's why Maine-Endwell high school developed the Path to Success career day, giving students a look at the infinite possibilities after graduation.

"A recent study that I shared with the students this morning is showing that upwards of 49% of students don't know exactly what career they want to go into in adulthood," says Maine-Endwell High School Principal Tom Burkhardt, "So we want to show them that there are multiple opportunities for them. There's a lot of different career paths where they can explore interests that they have and it doesn't hurt them to keep moving forward."

Around 80 community members across a variety of careers spoke with ME students about choosing a career path and what it takes to make it in the industries they're interested in pursuing. Fox 40's own Amy Hogan spoke with students interested in broadcast journalism. Around 700 students participated in the event.
