Boy's State Basketball Playoffs are Nearing an End

Friday, NY State quarterfinal rounds of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHAA) boy's basketball playoffs are in the books. From Class B to Class D, high school teams from across the State competed for a chance to represent their Section for a State Championship, at the Floyd L Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.
Here are your finals:
Boy's Class B Finals
- Seton Catholic - 65 def. Health Sciences Charter - 61 2-OT
- Mekeel Christian Academy - 68 def. Briarcliff - 61 Overtime
Boy's Class C Finals
- Lake George - 73 def. Greenport - 58 Final
- Northstar Christian Academy - 58 def. Tully - 45 Final
Boy's Class D Finals
- Moriah - 65 def. Newfield - 59 Final
- East High School - 78 def. Harrisville - 48 Final
Seton Catholic will face Mekeel Christian Academy, tomorrow (Saturday), for the Class B State Championship, at 9:00 p.m.
Northstar Christian Academy will take on Lake George, tomorrow, for the Class C State Championship, at 7:00 p.m.
And East High School will matchup against Moriah, tomorrow, for the Class D State Championship, at 5:15 p.m.
Noteworthy statistics:
East High School handed Moriah its first loss of the season, with Justin Allen scoring a double-double, 14 points and 11 rebounds. Allen's teammate, Willard Anderson scored a game-high 26 points.
Leo Gallagher led Seton Catholic in total points, with 21. Four Saints found themselves in double digits, for the win.
Following a loss to the Seton Saints, Mekeel Christian Academy's Kameron Briggs netted a game-high 23 points, most of which came in the second half.
Tomorrow's Class B Championship game is the first time any team from Mekeel Christian Academy (boys/girls) has reached an NY State Final.
Lake George is heading to their fourth State Championship, since 2009.
