Susquehanna Valley Girl's Basketball On Route To Making School HistoryPosted: Updated:
Most High School teams goal at the begging of every year is to win it all. Susquehanna Valley is close to not only achieving that goal, but also making school history while doing it.
They enter tomorrow night's game against Midlakes High School with a perfect record, something that a Susquehannah Valley girl's basketball team has never accomplished. As much as it means to the entire team, it means even more to the seniors who won SV's first state championship when they were Freshman, and here they are three years later on the way to repeat, just that.
But, as important as it is to play well together on the court, it's even more important to consider each other friends off the court. When asking Senior Trinashia Kennedy what makes this team so special, she stated, " Honestly the friendship we have, we love each other, we all hang out with each other, we're very nice to each other, which is something that not a lot of teams have, where every single person is together as a team and just as a whole."
Being apart of something from start to finish is not only special for the players, but just as special for the coach. SV's coach Chad Freije stated that "this year's team is very unselfish, they don't really care about stats really, they only care about the result and that's winning, so it's really nice to coach them."
Susquehanna Valley plays tomorrow at 3:15 p.m. at Hudson Community College.
Seton Catholic Central girls play tomorrow at 5:15 p.m. at Hudson Community College.
Seton Catholic Central boys play tomorrow at 5:00 p.m. at Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena.
