Binghamton Man Arrested After Pursuit In Chemung County

A Binghamton man has turned himself in after leading police on a pursuit back in February.

State Police Troopers witnessed Keenan Johnson, 22, speeding on State Route 17 in the town of Nichols on February 12th after a vehicle pursuit in Chemung County. Troopers tried to stop the vehicle, but Johnson didn't stop.

Broome County 911 later received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked behind a home, the description of the vehicle matched the one in the pursuit but Johnson fled the scene.

After an investigation, police issued a warrant for Johnson, and on March 9th he turned himself in.

Johnson was charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd degree, Reckless Endangerment in the 2nd degree, Reckless Driving, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd degree, Use of a Vehicle Without an Ignition Interlock Device and several traffic violations.

He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in the town of Owego Court on March 13 and the town of Nichols Court on March 19.
