17-Year-Old Charged After Making Threat To Otselic Valley Central School

A 17-year-old from Plymouth was arrested Friday following an investigation into a threat toward the Otselic Valley Central School.

According to a press release from the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, Otselic Valley administration reported the threat to police, and administrators and staff assisted with the investigation.

The Otselic Valley Central School District posted this message on their Facebook page Friday.

"This morning two high school students reported seeing a video posted online which contained a threat to our school. Upon receiving the report of the threat, the high school student responsible for the threat was located, brought to the office and questioned. Law enforcement was notified and conducted a lengthy investigation which will continue outside of school. Law enforcement has concluded there is no threat to our school. We commend our students who reported this threat. They saw something and they said something...they did the right thing." - Interim Superintendent Gray Stevens

The 17-year-old was charged with one count of Making a Terroristic Threat, a Class D felony.

The student appeared in Chenango County Court and was sent to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on no bail.
