The monument honors law enforcement officers of the Southern Tier who died in the line of duty. Officers like 36-year-old Deputy Kevin Tarsia who was gunned down in Kirkwood on July 4th, 2002.

"He is never forgotten. Not a day. A lot of things you remember when you do stuff as a family," said brother Phillip Tarsia.

This monument, which lists more than three dozen names, will travel to communities across the Southern Tier, to alive memories of the officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
