Prospect Mountain Construction To Impact Work-Week Traffic

BINGHAMTON, NY -

The NYSDOT has announced more Prospect Mountain Construction work that will affect traffic in the City of Binghamton from March 5th to March 9th.

From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, there will be periodic, alternating lane closures on Broad Avenue at the I-81/SR-17 overpass for crews to remove existing abutments and steel on the I-81 North/Route 17 West bridge over Broad Avenue.

From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, there will be periodic, alternating lane closures on SR-7 North between Robinson Street and Bevier Street for excavation and pile driving operations at the end abutment location of the new I-81 North/Route 17 West bridge over Route 7.

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, there will be periodic, alternating lane closures on Route  7 South between Bevier Street and Frederick Street for pile driving operations at the new I-81 North/Route 17 West bridge over Route 7.

Work will be performed weather permitting, and the NYSDOT advises drivers to be alert for slow moving traffic and sudden stops.
