51st St Patrick's Day Parade Moving Forward With Or Without Snow

Posted: Updated:

For the 51st year, people will be flocking to downtown Binghamton for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. Organizers say, Saturday's festivities will go on snow or shine.

Approximately 90 groups are participating in the parade this year, according to co-chairman Tom Kelly. Kelly says this is an area tradition that residents and out-of-towners look forward to.

"It has gone on for years and it has become very, very big event here, everybody looks forward to parade day, young and old, and we're certainly happy that we're able to do it," says Kelly.

The parade starts at 1:30pm, with the Seton After Party immediately following. The after-party will include food and entertainment from bagpipers, the Philadelphia Mummers, and local dance troops.
