Binghamton Parking Ban On Parade Route Starts Friday Night

Posted: Updated:

The Binghamton St Patrick's Day Parade has never been canceled in all its 51 years, and the city is trying to make sure this isn't the year that happens. In response to the winter weather expected, an on-street parking ban will be in place starting 10pm on Friday night all the way down the parade route.

"This is critical to make sure the city is able to plow not only the roadway, but also make sure that the sidewalks are clear and that people can view the parade and be as close to the parade as possible," says Binghamton Mayor Rich David.

That on-street parking ban is on Main Street from Arthur Street to the Court Street Bridge and on Court Street between the bridge and Carroll Street.

David says both the Public Works and Parks Departments will be working on snow removal.
