NYSEG Mobilizes Additional Crews Ahead of Storm

NYSEG has extra crews and resources standing by to respond to the storm expected to bring between eight and 15 inches of snow accumulation beginning late Thursday night and wind gusts as high as 45 mph on Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning from 11 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday for Broome, Chenango, Tioga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga and Madison counties.  In Pennsylvania, the March 1 storm will affect Susquehanna and Northern Wayne Counties.

Get ready for a rough Friday morning drive to work. By the afternoon wind gusts will cause whiteouts, drifting and scattered power outages.

The utility company said is contacting customers with email accounts on file and alerting customers who rely on life-sustaining equipment that relies on electricity.
