The Broome County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division has arrested Alexander Avery, 18-year-old male of the City of Binghamton, for Identity Theft and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. Avery is accused possessing a credit card that was reported stolen to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office and using the credit card to make multiple purchases in Broome County.
Avery is accused of using the stolen credit card to make multiple purchases at local businesses in Broome County. The stolen credit card was used to make purchases at a business on Court Street and a business on State Street in the City of Binghamton, a business on Gannett Drive in the Village of Johnson City, and a business on the Vestal Parkway in the Town of Vestal.
Avery was charged with 4 counts of Identity Theft in the 2nd degree and 4 counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree, all Felonies. Avery was processed on the above charges and will appear in the local criminal courts at a later date.
